Safety Certificates & COI's

G-Spot Engineering & Mechanical are an Approved Inspection Station for all Vehicles

Formally know as Roadworthy Inspections and Certificates RWC, Safety Certificates confirm a vehicle for sale is safe to drive on the road.

In Queensland a safety certificate is needed when:

Transferring registration to a new owner, when transferring to Queensland registration from another state or territory or when re-registering an unregistered vehicle.

Vehicles requiring a safety certificate are: cars, motorcycles, trailers (including caravans) with an aggregate trailer mass (ATM) between 750kg and 4,500kg and any other vehicles up to 4,500kg gross vehicle mass (GVM).

A safety certificate inspection is not a comprehensive mechanical inspection on the quality, or life expectancy of a vehicle. If you are buying a used vehicle, you should contact a us for a full mechanical inspection.

Certificates of Inspection - COI

Certificate of Inspection (COI) vehicles (such as heavy vehicles, licensed tow trucks, buses, taxis, limousines and booked hire vehicles) registered in Queensland may need to have a periodic or programmed inspection to check minimum vehicle safety standards. A COI is issued when the vehicle passes the inspection.

The vehicle should be checked for defects and have any necessary repairs completed before presentation for a COI to prevent the need for a re-inspection. This can all be undertaken in our Collinsville mechanical workshop.
